Methodology and neutrality

Sources: election dates come from INEC's calendar. Candidate names, parties, ages and genders are copied from INEC's published final lists of candidates (Governorship PDF, Senate PDF, House of Reps PDF), last checked 20 October 2026.
Accuracy: names were extracted from INEC's PDFs by software and checked against INEC's totals for Oyo (38 Senate, 151 House of Reps candidates, as reported by the press from INEC's list). Spelling and gender follow INEC's document, even where it may contain errors. Report a mistake and we will check it against INEC's file.
Order: candidates appear in the same order as INEC's list (alphabetical by party abbreviation). No candidate is placed first on purpose.
Neutrality: no opinions, ratings, polls, predictions or endorsements. No party ads or political sponsors. No money from parties, candidates or campaigns.
Changes: courts can change a party's candidate after publication. We update only when INEC publishes a change.
Not covered yet: State House of Assembly candidates and presidential candidates.
